How We Review Software Launches

A transparent look at the process behind every LaunchReviewPro score, from first login to final verdict.

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Our review process

  1. Get access and log in. We get access to the product and use it ourselves, not just the sales video.
  2. Test the core promise. We check whether the main features on the sales page work as described.
  3. Map the funnel. We list every OTO, upsell and downsell, its price, and what it actually unlocks.
  4. Check the fine print. We review the refund policy, the marketplace, licensing terms and any recurring fees.
  5. Score and publish. We score the product, write the verdict and list the pros and cons.

How the score is calculated

Each product receives a score out of 10, based on four weighted factors:

FactorWeightWhat we look at
Usefulness35%Does it solve a real problem? Does it do what the sales page claims?
Ease of use20%Setup time, learning curve, interface quality and training.
Upsell fairness20%Is the front-end usable alone, or are core features locked behind OTOs?
Value for money25%Total realistic cost compared with what you get and with alternatives.

Red flags we always check

  • Earnings or results claims that are not backed by evidence
  • Core features that only work after buying an upsell
  • "Lifetime" access to services with ongoing costs, such as hosting or AI usage
  • Fake scarcity, such as countdown timers that reset
  • Unclear refund terms or a vendor with a poor support history
